About this product

1836 Kratom Green Means Go capsules hold one gram of green kratom leaf each, 150 to a tin. The label’s serving is three capsules, for 50 servings per tin.

Green Means Go is one of 1836’s own product names, used by no other company. Steding and Sons Mercantile packs it in Pflugerville, Texas, just north of Austin, with leaf from growers in Kapuas Hulu, West Kalimantan.

The leaf is tested in Indonesia before it ships, then again in the United States by Cora Science, an accredited lab in Austin, for its alkaloids, including mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine, and for heavy metals and microbes. The reports are linked from our lab tests page.

Questions about this product

Why does 1836 give its kratom its own names?

Because strain names like Maeng Da, Bali and Thai are marketing that every seller shares, and they say nothing about where the leaf grew or its quality. 1836 made up names of its own, like Green Means Go, that belong to 1836 alone. We think that is the honest way to do it.

What makes it green?

How the leaf was dried and handled after picking. Every color comes from the same plant, Mitragyna speciosa.

How many capsules make a serving?

Three. A tin of 150 holds 50 servings.

What's better, capsules or powder?

Same leaf either way. Capsules have no taste, need no mixing and travel easily. Powder costs less per gram and can go into a drink or tea.

Is this a good fit for someone new to kratom?

Yes. It is plain leaf in a capsule, so each serving is easy to count. Start with the suggested serving on the label.

What is an 1836 Trusted Vendor?

A store that finished 1836's onboarding and product training and agreed to honor 1836's satisfaction guarantee. Whole Earth Gifts is one, and we are listed in 1836's Trusted Vendor directory.

Where is the lab report for this product?

On our lab tests page, which links to every lot report 1836 publishes. The full reports cover the alkaloid profile, including mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine, plus heavy metals and a microbial panel.

Looking for the best kratom for energy, focus, mood or relief?

Nobody can tell you that. Tying a color to an outcome is marketing, not evidence, and no study supports it. Strain names tell you nothing more than which package to reorder once you find one you like.

On top of that, the moment a seller attaches an outcome to a product, the FDA treats that product as an unapproved drug, which is why you will not find that language here.

There is one plant, Mitragyna speciosa. Red, green, white and gold describe drying and handling, not different species. Nearly all commercial kratom comes out of Indonesian Borneo, and most of ours comes from Kapuas Hulu in West Kalimantan, a regency of riverbank farms upriver from Putussibau.

So pick one and find out. Shipping is free on every order and every order carries a 30-day guarantee, opened packages included, so trying something costs you the time and nothing else.

How do people take it?

Start with the suggested serving printed on the package.

Capsules are swallowed like any other capsule, with a full glass of water. Water rather than coffee, energy drinks or soda.

Powder is usually stirred into juice, brewed as a tea, or folded into something thick like yogurt or applesauce. Mixed into plain water it tends to float and clump.

How should I store it, and does it expire?

Cool, dry, sealed, out of light, and out of reach of children and pets. Kratom does not spoil the way food does. Over time it fades.

Is kratom legal where I live?

It depends on your state, and in some places on your county or city. Kratom is legal federally, banned in a handful of states, and restricted in scattered counties. We do not ship where it is prohibited, but the responsibility to know your local law is yours. Kratom legality by state is kept current.
